Creature Web Design Process

When it comes to effective web design, getting the brief right is half the battle. You can't possibly determine the most effective web solution when you don’t have a clear outline of the exact project requirements. Before you attempt to begin a web design project, it is imperative that you take the time to prepare a comprehensive list of your objectives, expectations and requirements. This does not necessarily have to be a technical brief. As long as you can clearly articulate what you expect from the final website, you are one step closer to acquiring the information you need to select a web design that can deliver the best results. By taking the time to clearly identify your web site requirements you are ensuring that the service you receive will most accurately reflect the true goal of the project. Although it may take some time to do, preparing this information will ultimately save you money and provide you with the information necessary to make better decisions. CreatureWeb walks through this process with each of our design clients by following the below listed steps....

    Defining your site:

At the outset, you will be appointed an account manager who will remain your single point of contact for the duration of your project. Your account manager will organize an initial consultation  to discuss your requirements and identify your underlying goals. Once we have acquired a solid understanding of the primary objectives, we will be in the position to determine the most suitable method that best accommodates your requirements. Your account manager will provide you with a comprehensive information collection worksheet to help piece together all of the important material that should be included in your website.

    Designing your site:

The design phase is the creative process that translates your company's image into a quality website that promotes your business in the most professional manner. comprehensive information collection worksheet provides our designers with an opportunity to acquire a detailed understanding of the technical and creative requirements for your website. Our designers will then prepare a mockup concept that illustrates the appearance and structure of your website for your feedback and comments. Once you have reviewed the website layout, our designers will implement revisions (if required) before presenting the design for final approval. We strongly believe that keeping the customer closely involved in the creative process will ensure that the proposed concept reflects all of the requirements identified in the definition phase.

    Developing your site:

The development phase involves converting the approved layouts into an operational website. Our developers work in close partnership with the designers to ensure that the actual website is an exact reflection of the final screen designs. Once the basic website framework has been established, our developers will begin integrating the additional components you have selected (e.g Ecommerce, community forums, photo gallery etc...). During the development phase our technicians will register your company's domain name and configure your email accounts.( if required) As an interim solution, we will create an attractive holding page that displays the basic contact information.

    Deploying your site:

Before the approved website is deployed on the live server, our developers conduct rigorous usability and quality assurance testing to ensure that your website functions correctly. Having successfully completed the exhaustive testing, our development team will place the website on our local staging server for your final review. Once you have approved the final website, our designers will perform the content population for you. The population process involves adding all of the required content and related media files to your new website. We will provide you with free phone and email/helpdesk support to assist with the initial technical or operational problems you may encounter. Once you are completely satisfied with the final product, your new website will be launched on the live server.
